COMBINING IT SERVICE, ASSET AND FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

With a diverse service catalog and large customer base, the University of Nebraska at Lincoln (UNL) Network and Telecom Group is replacing numerous disparate systems and operational silos with the visibility of a central database and the economy of single point of entry across all related work groups for Service Management, Asset Tracking, infrastructure records and web based Chargeback with integration to ERP.

UNL has a rich history of leadership in telecommunication and information technology as evidenced by ACUTA’s prestigious Ruth A. Michalecki Leadership Award, named posthumously for the accomplished former Director of Telecom at UNL.

Today, UNL continues as a leading provider of information and communication technologies, offering faculty, staff and students a broad range of innovative technology options. With customer demand increasing and budgets tightening, UNL managers looked to the future and considered it vital to acquire a turnkey software solution that would consolidate UNL’s service, asset, and billing/chargeback management functions across IT and telecom.

The selection team had a clear goal of acquiring a “turnkey” browser-based solution that could easily be tailored to meet the needs of various work groups across IT and consolidate chargeback, billing, asset, and service management processes.

After a thorough selection process, UNL licensed and implemented Compco’s MySoft.net software suite. “We're excited about the level of service and clarity this system brings to our customers," [says Rick Haugerud, Assistant Director IS Communications & Operations]. "Our customers love having the ability to access a single application to review the technology services they are buying and compare current and historical invoices.”
